Todd had no plans to run a Telegram, so the community took the initiative to create the first meeting ground for the soon-to-be monikered Fungi Patch. A unique CRO (“Community Ran Organization”) was established and the OG Fungimentals began to find each other.
Connecting over tiny digital mushrooms, an entire cohort of crypto veterans, second cyclers and new first cyclers alike found resonance with the innovative progression of blockchain technology.
Prologue
The Greek philosopher Anaxagoras (500-428 B.C.) was the first to propose the idea of panspermia, asserting that life seeds are present everywhere in the universe. In the 19th century, physician H.E. Richter proposed that meteors were the vehicles for transferring life through space in the form of microbes (fungi spores).

CHAPTER 1: Launch – March 31st, 2024
You just had to be there… and yet, it’s still day one. Fungi was deployed on 2024-03-31 16:57:09 (UTC) with liquidity locked / renounced contract by an anonymous developer Todd Stool. Quickly finding it’s way the top of dex screeners (21.37m peak), fungi caught the attention because of how unique it was. A Level 5 Fungi was going for ~61Ξ.
It had all the hallmarks of something very special, though evenso, it was challenging to find mixed in with the cacophony of memecoin launches. Much like finding mushrooms in the forest, out of nowhere, there they appear. Telegram was not listed on fungifungi.art or Dextools and future ‘fungimentals’ began to comment on Todd’s posts, asking for an official Telegram room

Taking this to heart, BlockchainHOF realized that Todd had no plans to run a community Telegram so he took the initiative to create the first meeting ground for the soon-to-be monikered Fungi Patch. Larva Labs rumors filled the air as people started making their way into the Telegram.
Who Is Todd Stool?
Around 100 or so joined in this first 24 hours and many are still here to this day. Is Jesse Todd Stool? Vitalik? Grandiose speculations were laughingly discussed but it was quickly realized that just like “everyone is Satoshi” we too, began to realize that we are all Todd Stool.
Todd Teased the Marketplace for the first time and the TG started to speculate on all the possibilities that it would usher in for the 20i Ecosystem having it’s own OTC desk and Inscriptions Gallery. This news propelled FUNGI back to ATH after it’s first 90% Draw down (As of Dec 2024, fungi has encountered 4 draw downs over ~80%.

On the fateful evening of April 3rd, a legendary member of the Fungi Patch (part foe, part fungimetal), Jerry The Jaguar coined a saying that would be repeated like a limerick from the lands of the gnomes… “I am once again drinking beer and smoking cigs in the Fungus Patch”

As the community continues to form, mushroom art flowing in the TG, Todd puts a call out on X for suggestions on what to call the fungi community. After many suggestions, the decision is made to refer to the community as the “Fungimentals.” A meme contest is held and the winner was AlchemicAV — the video can be seen today on the BuyBot in Telegram.
Froggi Teaser
First teaser of a new 20i from Yuut was shared in the Telegram and excitement filled the air with the possibilities of a sister project to Fungi. As with most technologies, adoption is paramount so knowing Fungi was spreading like mycelium was a welcomed piece of news.

1000 Telegram members – April 12
Less than 2 weeks after launch, the fungi patch crossed a valiant threshold of 1000 TG members – a small victory in the trenches.

The first community driven webapp created by Samuv came across the airwaves and the addition of a webapp with expanded functionality for re-rolling dynamic and stable inscriptions. Fungi had experienced a multi-day downtrend ushering in the second 80% draw down and though we don’t tend to focus on price in the Fungi Patch, we were nursing the drawdown with plenty of beers and cigs (hard not to). Out of no where, the buybot became especially active and then all of the sudden, the buy bot was very active. A new member (M) drops in our chat and says “RAID hard” and drops a link, forever changing the trajectory of the project.

A hallmark moment for a any new project is when the team and/or community crosses into the realm of having a CoinMarketCap listing. When the news came across the airwaves that Todd’s application was processed, the fungimentals made sure to enjoy an extra fermented beverage and ciggy to celebrate.

Jelli Launch 4-20
Jelli Launched on 4-20-2024 to an elated fungi patch. Jelli was the first fork of ERC20i and took the concept of Fungi but created the First Animated ERC20i. Each Jelli is a unique animated artwork depicting a stage of jellyfish life, evolvable and convertible on-chain without the need for a third-party dapp.
